Middle East Heats Up

The middle east is again in turmoil. The Arab League has imposed sanctions on Syria.  All the surrounding nations are gearing up for a possible war, including Israel.

Are we close to seeing  the destruction of Damascus prophesied in the Bible?  Damascus is one of rhe oldest continuously inhabitate cities in thw world, so we know this prophecy has yet to be fullfilled. Keep an eye on the situation.

Palestinian's are poised to declare unilateral statehood at UN

The Palestinians are planning to ask the UN to recognize them as a sovereign state on Sept. 20 or 21.  They may bypass a security council  veto and go directly to the floor, where the measure has a lot of support. If passed, it will put even more pressure on Israel, who has become more and more isolated.

Today, Russia stated that they will support the declaration.  Only the US's shaky support hinders their foes.  But Israel's ultimate deliverer will by God. World events are moving very rapidly now.

"When you see all these things coming to pass, lift up your heads, for your redemption draws nigh."

Maranatha, come quickly Lord Jesus!

New bar codes leading to the Mark of the Beast?

Have you seen the new 2-D barcode squares?  They hold lots more information than the old bar codes.  They can be used for products, medical info, web sites, etc.  You can just point a cell phone camera at it, and it will go to the web site encoded.  They are being used globally.

Revelation chapter 13 describes a system of global control.  The Antichrist will require everyone to have a mark put on his or her right hand or forehead.  Without that mark, the person cannot buy or sell. Included in the Mark, will be the Antichrist's number, 666.

This new bar code system may or may not be used for the Mark,  but the technology is definitely available now.

Bilderberg Group holds not so secret meeting

The global elite are having a "secret" meeting in St. Moritz, Switzerland.  The group promotes progress towards a new world order.  Top bankers, heads of state and  moguls are arriving as I write this.  About 30 protesters and a few media people are catching glimpses of some of the most powerful people on earth.

The Bible says that during the Tribulation that the Antichrist's government would cover the whole world.  Progress in this direction is picking up.

Prophecy Chart

I finally got the prophecy chart posted.  It is under the tab "prophecy chart".  I made this chart back in 1999.  It's interesting to note how many of the things have progressed since then.  Notably the rush toward a "new world order" and the cataclysmic signs of the times, including earthquakes, storms and other natural phenomena.  The political situation has really lined up with the foretold events.

May 21, 2011 is not Judgement Day!

You may have seen billboards or other forms of advertising saying that May 21 will be the rapture and Oct. 21 the world will be destroyed by fire.  Don't believe it.  Dr. Camping is wrong on many levels.  People have been trying to determine the exact day of the Rapture since the Bible was written.  Jesus himself said that NO MAN knows the day or hour. Matt.24:36.  We can determine when we are close by the signs we were told to look for, but the exact date has been hidden from us.

God purposefully did not reveal it, so that we would always live in expectancy of His coming.  Previous generations would have been deprived of hope that they might see the fulfillment of the prophecies.  People who set exact dates cause great harm to those who believe them.  When the date comes and goes without anything happening, they lose faith that it will ever happen.  False prophets add or take away from the Bible.  Rev. 22:18-19 tells what will happen to them.

So don't be afraid of the false prophets!

Hammas and Palestinians form Unity Government

The Palestinian Authority and the terrorist group Hammas have joined togetther.  Hammas is dedicated to the destruction of the state of Israel.  By law, the US cannot give any money to a terrorist organization.  Up until now, the Palestinians have received millions of dollars in aid from the United States and Israel. This funding may stop if they continue to include Hammas in their government.

Hammas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.  The Brotherhood is formenting unrest in every country in the Mideast and northern Africa.  The whole area is seething with antagonism toward Israel.   After a ten year search, Osama Bin Laden was killed by US forces. The death of Osama Bin Laden  damages Al Quaeda but may inflame tensions further. Americans have been warned against possible reprisals.

Things are speeding up!

In 2003 there were an estimated 850,000 Christians in Iraq.  Today there are fewer than 300,000.  Since October, 95,000 Christians fled.  In Egypt twenty Christians have been killed since Mubarak was deposed.  Fear of violence has led many to leave their homes.

Luke 21:17  "All men will hate you because of Me."

Killer storms are on the increase.  A massive number  of tornadoes wrecked havoc on the United States last week.

Luke 21:25b-27  "and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring. Men's heart failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken, and then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."

Palestinians to use UN Resolution 377 to force unilateral state

The Palestinians have set a deadline of September 2011 to declare Palestinian  statehood unilaterally if peace talks don't achieve their aims by then.

They are seeking to use United Nations Resolution 377 to bypass an American veto in the security council.  The resolution allows a general vote if the security council cannot agree. Israel could face sanctions or even military action from the UN. Some nations have already recognized a separate Palestinian state.

Israel is increasingly being isolated.  Soon Israel will stand alone and feel the need of the Antichrist's alliance.

Come Up Here!

Rev. 4:1  After I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said "come up here!"

The apostle John is taken up to heaven to see what will take place in the last days.  The book of Revelation is chronological.  The first three chapters deal with seven letters to seven churches.  From Rev 4:1 on, it outlines events that take the breath away.  I believe the "come up here" is prophetic of the Rapture.  After this point, the church is not seen on the earth, but in heaven.

Are you ready to hear that command, "come up here!" ?  I believe it will be soon. If you're not ready, see the page "what must I do to be saved?"  Your eternal destiny depends on one choice.  Don't put it off.

UN pushing Israel to surrender to Palestinian demands

Tues. the UN tried to issue a resolution demanding that Israel surrender all of the West Bank and East Jerusalem to the Palestinians.  It escaped only by the United States veto in the security council. But Washington's support of Israel is at it's lowest point ever under the Obama administration. The Palestinians and Hammas are very close to unilaterally declaring a separate state. Politically the whole middle east is boiling over.  The Muslim Brotherhood is taking advantage of the unrest in many Muslim countries.  "The Muslims are looking for their "Mahdi" or "twelfth imman"  who they think will bring the whole world under Sharia law.

Right before Jesus will return, the Bible says Israel will be politically isolated.  We are watching this happen before our eyes.  Israel is being pushed into a corner.  They will soon feel the need to accept the Antichrist's offer of protection.

Jesus' coming is right at the door.  Make sure you're ready!  Watch and pray.

Earthquakes

Jesus said,  "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginnings of birthpangs." Matt. 24:7-8

Birthpangs increase in frequency and intensity as the birth draws nearer.  Jesus told us that one of the signs of His imminent return is a great increase in earthquakes.  Out of the eleven largest quakes recorded, eight have occurred since 1948. Three of those were in 2010-2011!

Here is a link to a graph of earthquake intensity compared to other forms of energy:
http://geology.about.com/library/bl/blquakestats.htm

The signs of the times are all around us.  Jesus said,  "Now, learn this lesson from the fig tree; as soon as it's twigs get tender and it's leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."
Matt 24:32-35

The generation that sees all the signs happening at once, our generation, is the one that will also see His return! Thanks for reading my blog!

The good news

Bible prophecy has a lot of scary stuff in it.  But here's the good news:

John 14: 1- 3   " Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am."

Jesus will soon come back for us.  It is our blessed hope.  Keep looking up!

Does this sound like our society?

2Tim 3:1- 5  "But mark this; there will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than of God - having a form of godliness but denying it's power. Have nothing to do with them."

You can read stories illustrating every one of these in our newspapers on any given day. Or watch the evening news on TV.  We are living in the terrible times described in this passage.  There are still good people in this world, but our society as a whole has degenerated into a morass of self-centeredness and lack of love.

order of prophetic events

I had a question about the order of prophetic events in the end times.

This is the order of prophetic events as I see it:

1) the Rapture 1Cor. 15:52, 1Thes. 4: 13-18

2) Israel signs 7 year peace agreement (this marks the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period.)  Daniel 9:27

3) At the end of the 2520 days Jesus returns to end Armageddon. the Antichrist and false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire.  Satan is bound.  Rev 19: 11- Rev. 20: 2

4) Jesus then sets up his earthly kingdom and reigns on the earth for 1000 years. At the end of this time, Satan is released.  Some rebel and there is a short war.  King Jesus wins.  Rev 20: 4-10

5) The great white throne judgement occurs.  Those whose names are not written in the Lamb's book of life are thrown into the lake of fire.  Rev. 20:11-15

6) The earth is renovated and we then go into eternity. Rev. 21:1

What is the "rapture"?

What is the "rapture"? There are two main passages of scripture that detail this marvelous truth.  It is called a mystery, because up until this writing it had not yet been revealed.

ICor.15:51-55 "Listen, I tell you a mystery: we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true, 'death has been swallowed up in victory, where death, is your victory? Where O death is your sting?' "

1Thes. 4:13-18  "Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.  We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first, after that, we who are still  alive  will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words."

Matt. 24:36  "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father."

When the Father tells Jesus to go get his Bride, all the living believers will be caught up to meet him in the clouds.  We will receive our resurrection bodies in that moment without experiencing death.  No one knows exactly when this will occur, but we know from the signs that it is near.  Because we know that the time is short, we need to tell as many people as possible about the good news.

Is "rapture" in the Bible?

I just got a question about the word rapture.
"I have a friend who is an avid studier of the Bible and a Christian. He insists that the 'rapture' is never mentioned in the Bible. Do you have more info to rebute his belief?"

The word rapture is from the Latin version of the Greek word "Harpazo", meaning to snatch away It is also known as "the gathering together". See 1Cor 15:51-54 and 1Thes. 4:15-18. The concept is commonly known as the rapture.

What in the World is happening?

Brenda Walden’s Prophecy Blog

A lot of people are wondering if the current world events mean something or are they just random occurrences. Killer earthquakes, wars, famines, strange celestial phenomena, tsunamis, devastating storms, ethnic strife, economic distress, societal breakdown and many more disasters are coming on this world in an unprecedented way. Is there a deeper meaning to all these events? Is God trying to tell us something?

Shortly after I became a Christian, I read Hal Lindsey’s book “Late, great, planet Earth.” Since that day, I have had a great interest in the prophecies of the Bible. That was many years ago. I have watched as many prophecies have been fulfilled in part or in whole. Now, the rate of events is going crazy!

Do prophecies in the Bible written thousands of years ago have anything to do with the headlines in our newspapers? I believe they do. In a world that seems totally out of control, God is ultimately in control. He uses events to wake us up and let us know that the time is coming when Jesus will return to this earth.

About 25% of the Bible is prophetic. There are many prophecies about the first coming of Jesus. Every one of these prophecies was fulfilled by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Some of these prophecies are amazingly specific. The literalness of the fulfillments is astounding. For specific examples , see the fulfilled prophecy section.

There are even more Bible prophecies about the second coming of Jesus. They are not just in the last chapter of the Bible, the Revelation. Many are in the Old Testament, like Ezekiel, the Psalms, Zechariah and Daniel. In the New Testament, all the Gospels, Corinthians, Ephesians, and many more books of the Bible hold detailed prophecies about “the end times”. Jesus’ own words tell us how to recognize when the general time of His return is approaching.

I’m no date setter. Jesus said that we would not know the day or hour of his return. But he commanded us to recognize when His return was very near. He listed specific events that would all happen in the same time frame that would herald the end times.

Many will say that these signs have occurred throughout history. We’ve always had wars and earthquakes. But Jesus went on to describe that these signs could be compared to birth pangs. When a woman is about to give birth, the contractions become the stronger and closer together until the moment of birth. We see this in the signs of the times. All these indicators are increasing exponentially in frequency and intensity. See the section “Signs of the Times”.

Some say that Christians in all ages have expected the return of Jesus in their lifetime. This is true and by design of God. Expectancy of His return is a purifying hope and spurs us on to share the Gospel.

Why then do we think that our generation is any different? Is there a non-recurring event that differentiates our generation from any other? There is. It is the rebirth of the nation of Israel in May, 1948. In Ezekiel 37:1-13 there is strange scene described. There is a valley of dead, dried bones. As Ezekiel watches, the bones rise up, sinews and flesh regrow on them and they are all resurrected. The scripture is very clear in interpreting this bizarre scene of dead, dry bones rising up. It says “these are the whole house of Israel”. Many of the other prophecies about the end times couldn’t occur until the nation of Israel existed again. Another pivotal fulfilled prophecy occurred in 1967 at the conclusion of the Six Day War with Israel recapturing Jerusalem. See my prophecy chart under “1948”.

The rebirth of Israel started the clock ticking on the end times. Jesus said that the generation that saw all the signs coming together would be the one in which he would come back for His own. Since 1948, events have been escalating toward a climax. Many interesting developments started in 1948 in relation to Bible prophecy. It has been called by Hal Lindsey, the “hinge of history”.

Another pivotal date is 1967, when Israel recaptured the city of Jerusalem at the conclusion of the Six Day War. I will share a chart I made a long time ago that shows the importance of events that started in 1948.

What do all these things mean to you personally? Is the world about to end? No, the world will not end. But we are rushing toward a celestial showdown.

Your personal decisions will determine how this all affects you. You were created by God to fellowship with Him through all eternity. But there’s a big problem. We have all sinned and God is holy. Jesus made a way for us to have that fellowship with Him restored. He sent His only son to die in our place so that fellowship could be restored. All we have to do is admit we are sinners (and we all are), ask for forgiveness and accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers. If we do that, we will ultimately be ok whatever happens. See the page entitled "What must I do to be saved?" for more detailed information.(see the tab at the top of this page)

What is the next event on the prophetic calendar? It is a once in history occurrence commonly known as the Rapture or the “gathering together”. It is described in ICor and Ephesians. I believe that this will occur before the seven year Tribulation period begins. It is the promised return of Jesus to catch away His Bride the Church. Every believer that is relying on Jesus for salvation will suddenly vanish from this earth. “In the twinkling of an eye” we will meet Jesus in the air. We will receive our forever resurrection bodies in that instant. I’m really looking forward to trading in this old model for the new, perfect one. Our new bodies will be like Jesus’ body after His resurrection. We don’t know all the ramifications of that yet, but I know it will be great. Jesus will take His Bride to heaven for the seven year period that the Tribulation will be happening on the earth. Some people disagree about the timing of this event, putting it in the middle, “mid-Trib” or “pre-wrath”, or end of the Tribulation, “post-Trib”. See the “Pre-Trib” section to see the relevant scriptures and arguments. Some Christians don’t express an opinion about when it will occur. This is the “pan-Trib” position. They say it will all pan out in the end.

The Tribulation begins when the infamous Antichrist confirms a seven year peace covenant guaranteeing Israel’s safety. A Biblical year is 360 days, so the Tribulation will last for 2520 days. At the end of that time, Jesus will return with His Bride to destroy His enemies and set up His kingdom on earth. A thousand year period of peace follows called the Millennium.

During the Tribulation, God pours out 21 judgments upon the earth and the Antichrist wreaks havoc. It is not going to be a good time to be here.
